Welcome to the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) eLearning course, brought to you by the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa (IDC).
This course will assist you as an IDC employee in understanding the basic principles on processing information according to the POPI Act. It will also assist you in understanding the definitions provided in the POPI Act, listing the justifications for processing, knowing the rights and responsibilities of the various role players within data processing and understanding the consequences of non-compliance with the POPI Act.
As an employee of a Financial Institution you will be equipped with the knowledge and skills ensuring that Personal Information of both individuals and juristic entities are sufficiently protected and used in the manner for which it was gathered.
